What a weekend!

Deacon Bobby McWilliams became Fr. Bob McWilliams on Friday, May 19th when he and his 7 classmates were ordained to the Sacred Order of the Priesthood by Bishop Daniel Thomas at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist. We had a bus full of people who made the trip to Cleveland for the happy occasion.  The Cathedral was packed and the Mass was just beautiful.  Fr. Bob then celebrated his First Mass on Sunday, May 21st and Immaculate Conception was packed and celebrated another beautiful Mass, despite an ailing sound system.  Following Mass, a reception was held at the hall at the Knights of Columbus Council 3410 on Glenmount.  Profound thanks go out to Charlie Wilson, Bart Eggert and the Parish Activities Committee who did an amazing job with the reception under some very difficult circumstances (the original caterer backed out 2 weeks before the event), to Waterloo Restaurant for stepping in and doing a wonderful job, to all Adopt-A-Plot holders – the grounds are just beautiful, to John Hughes, our very own MacGyver, to Mother Mary’s Music Makers, Lili Meadows, Michael Garvin and Dr. Edward Kaczuk for the beautiful music, to the Lectors, Servers and Ministers of Hospitality, to all our Cookie Elves – outstanding job, to Don White, Jr., parishioner and member of Knights Council 3410 who worked tirelessly to prepare the hall, to all the 4th Degree Knights who came, to all who came late Saturday night and early Sunday morning to decorate the hall, and to all who donated their time, talent and treasure to make all this happen so smoothly.  This was indeed I.C. spirit at its best and just an example of what we can do when we all pull together!  Enjoy pictures from ordination and the reception.  There are no pictures here of First Mass as the person writing this and taking pictures was busy playing the guitar!  You may watch the Ordination Mass at www.dioceseofcleveland.org under “Other News.”
