New Auxiliary Bishop!!

Bishop Malesic announced that Pope Francis has appointed a priest of the Diocese of Cleveland, Fr. Michael Woost, as an auxiliary bishop for the diocese. Bishop-elect Woost will be ordained to the episcopate on August 4th at the Cathedral. A graduate of St. Ignatius High School, Borromeo and St. Mary Seminaries, ordained in 1984, he also earned a degree in sacred theology in 2000 from the Catholic University of America and has been teaching sacramental-liturgical theology as a faculty member at St. Mary Seminary and Graduate School of Theology. Interesting fact: He has two brothers who are also priests in our diocese – Fr. Dave and Fr. Tom Woost!

Alleluia – He is risen!!

Thank you to all who came to decorate the church – it is beautiful and the flowers make it smell heavenly!! We wish you all a joyous and blessed Easter season.

May Crowning

We held our May Crowning service on Thursday, May 5th. Thank you to Becky Plasity for crowning our Blessed Mother and to those who brought flowers for Mary’s shrine.

Weekday Mass change

The Wednesday 5:30 pm Mass is being suspended with the exception of the last Wednesday of the month when the Anointing of the Sick will be celebrated at Mass. Mass will be celebrated on Mondays and Fridays at 5:30 pm as usual.

99 Years and Counting! Time to celebrate – update.

On Wednesday, March 23rd we marked the 99th year of ministry to the Kenmore area with Mass and a small reception. We look now to our 100th year and new and exciting ministry opportunities. We are forming a committee to plan various activities as we head into our 100th year. If interested in serving on the committee, please call the rectory at 330-753-8429 to share your stewardship. Unfortunately the camera battery, newly charged, failed, so there are no pictures of those who came over to celebrate, but Beth and Joe Langton took these of the cakes and the new banner. I.C. Spirit – catch it!

Rectory hours

Because of reduced staff and reduced staff hours, you may call the rectory and get the answering service. Melissa is the only staff person on duty all day from 9am till 5pm, but sometimes things come up and the service must be put on for a little while. You may leave a message with the service or call back later. We will try to let you know weekly, when this might occur.

Monday, May 9th: Phones will be on service for most of the afternoon due to meetings and other commitments.
