On December 8th, the Church celebrates the Immaculate Conception of our Blessed Mother. This doctrine, declared a dogma of the Church by Pope Pius IX on December 8, 1854, affirms that Mary was preserved, from the moment of her conception, from the stain and consequences of original sin as she would become the Mother of Jesus, the Savior of the world, and the first to benefit from what Jesus would win for all of us.
This is one of the Holy Days which can not be dispensed if it falls on a weekend. Masses: Vigil Mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 7th at 5:30 pm. Mass on the Holy Day will be celebrated on Saturday, December 8th at 11 am. This is our parish feast day so we invite you to wear something blue to Mass to honor our Blessed Mother and we invite you to join us after the 11 am Mass for a light luncheon (sub sandwiches, salads). To ensure that we have enough food, we ask that you RSVP by submitting the form that can be found in church or calling the rectory at 330-753-8429 by December 5th.
Happy Feast Day!!!
