Thank you!

To those coming to Mass, thank you for complying with diocesan and parish guidelines, enduring masks and participating fully. Thank you to Mother Mary’s Music Makers who have figured out how to minister at the 11:00 Mass while being 6 ft. distanced and to Peggy McCann and Rebecca Kreeger for music at 5:30 and 8:30. Thank you to our Ministers of Hospitality and Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion. Lectors, thank you for understanding and standing down for right now.

To those not yet coming to Mass, thank you for your unity with the community in prayer. Please know you are not forgotten, that we miss you terribly and can’t wait till we can all be together once again.

To those manning our Bingo program, the Kenmore Free Store and the Kenmore Community Meal, thank you for your willingness and for complying with our guidelines – we know it is hot under those masks!!

To everyone who has made the effort to get your envelopes to the parish, thank you. Whether you are bringing them to Mass, mailing or dropping them off, we are so very grateful for your diligence and faithfulness. If you are going to an air conditioned parish during the hottest Sundays, please be sure your envelopes make it here to the parish.

We are here for you so if you have any questions, concerns or comments, please let us know!

It’s hopping around here today!

As we look out over the parking lot, we see many things going on today, June 30th. People in masks are lined up outside the Free Store to come in for the first time since March, gardeners are busy tending their Community Garden areas and the Community Meal Team, in masks, are in Waldeisen Hall preparing to serve the community delicious take-out meals and soon people will be arriving for their meals. Things are definitely NOT normal and won’t be for a very long time, but these events today give us hope that someday they will. In the meantime, we’re taking every precaution by wearing masks, social distancing, sanitizing hands and surfaces. We’re in this together!!

We’re back!

It was so good to see people come through the doors of the church last weekend – first time since March 17th. It looked a bit strange as everyone had masks on and had to learn how to navigate the new guidelines, but all in all things went pretty well. The number of people coming for worship were down and that was expected. Please know that we miss those of you who are choosing to stay home, that we fully respect your decision and that we look forward to the day this pandemic is eradicated and we can all be together once again. Starting this weekend, Trinity Sunday, we’ll have the full bulletin once again and will continue to place copies at the back door of the church for those not yet coming to Mass and who don’t have a computer to see the bulletin on our website.

The staff is so very grateful for your faithful stewardship of treasure; I.C. parishioners ROCK!!! If you’re coming to Mass, follow the guidelines and place your envelope in the basket at the front of the church. If you’re not yet able to come to Mass, please continue to mail in or drop off your envelopes or go online to make your contribution.

Please pray for an end to this pandemic, all those affected by it, our medical, hospital and military personnel and for our country as we work toward racial equality and understanding. Think about this from an unknown author that was posted on Facebook: “When Jesus said love your neighbor, He knew your neighbor would act, look, believe and love differently than you. It’s kind of the whole point.”

Ascension homily video from Fr. Mike

We did a video of Fr. Mike’s homily on the Feast of Ascension and we hope you enjoy it. Even though the doors are now open we will continue to film things for those who do not yet feel safe about being out in public – we care about you!!

May Crowning

Fr. Mike crowned Our Blessed Mother, Mary, on Sunday May 3rd. We hope you enjoy this video and we invite you to honor Mary by praying the Litany of Loreto with Fr. Mike.

Revisiting Generations of Faith Talks on iTunes

Thomas Conte, webmaster extraordinaire, found these live recordings from our 2010 Generations of Faith program and put them all here in one place. We invite you to revisit or enjoy them for the first time. In 2010 Fr. Andy, ordained from this parish, was in his 4th year of priesthood, Bill Boomer was Director of the Marriage and Family Life Office, Sr. Margaret was the Director of the Office of Evangelization and Fr. Tifft was a professor at the seminary. Thomas, thank you for these gems.
