A hearty group of parishioners, family and friends headed out to Charger Lanes for a fun night of bowling on January 21st. Some were experienced bowlers, others hadn’t bowled in decades and some were bowling for the first time. Regardless of experience, Scotch Doubles has it’s challenges so sitting on the floor, helping others off the floor, standing like statues and bowling backwards were all part of the fun.
Pizza & Pumpkin Carving
Creativity abounded on Sunday, October 16th as parishioners and friends tried their hands at decorating pumpkins. Many thanks to Beth & Joe Langton and the 100th Anniversary Committee for sponsoring this fun event. Which pumpkin is your favorite?
Night at the Rubber Ducks
Great people, good weather, a victory (2-1) and fireworks – what more could you ask for! Oh yes – food. Enjoy these pictures from our parish outing to the Rubber Ducks game.
Happy birthday, Fr. Mike!
We wish the one and only Fr. Michael B. a very happy birthday today!
Parish Leadership Transition
On Tuesday, May 31, 2022, Fr. Dan Schlegel, Secretary and Vicar for Clergy, Diocese of Cleveland, addressed parishioners regarding the future of the parish. As you may know, Fr. Mike retired on June 7, 2022 because he reached the mandatory retirement age for priests. Bishop Edward Malesic appointed Melissa Keegan, who was the Pastoral Associate, as Parish Life Coordinator effective June 7, 2022. Melissa has been in ministry at I.C. for 40 years and was certified as a Lay Ecclesial Minister for the Diocese of Cleveland by the late Bishop Anthony Pilla in 2000. As PLC, she will oversee all daily operations of the parish.
Masses and Confession: Fr. Mike has graciously agreed to serve as the Sacramental Priest for I.C., celebrating Mass and hearing Confessions as he has done so faithfully for 24 years here.
New Auxiliary Bishop!!
Bishop Malesic announced that Pope Francis has appointed a priest of the Diocese of Cleveland, Fr. Michael Woost, as an auxiliary bishop for the diocese. Bishop-elect Woost will be ordained to the episcopate on August 4th at the Cathedral. A graduate of St. Ignatius High School, Borromeo and St. Mary Seminaries, ordained in 1984, he also earned a degree in sacred theology in 2000 from the Catholic University of America and has been teaching sacramental-liturgical theology as a faculty member at St. Mary Seminary and Graduate School of Theology. Interesting fact: He has two brothers who are also priests in our diocese – Fr. Dave and Fr. Tom Woost!
