More ducks make for excitement!

Looked out the window in time to see this mama duck and her ducklings going across the parish parking lot. We have no idea where they were going, but they were clearly lost. They waddled up to the doors of the Food Pantry and then big black crows started circling with thoughts of lunch or dinner in their little crow brains! Melissa went out to try scare the crows away and mama duck got freaked – leaving the babies and trying to draw Mel away by acting like she was injured; they finally took refuge under a shrub. Mel and Bob tried to get them to come out from under so they could be captured and taken to a place where they’d be happy and safe, but the ducks would have none of it. Never a dull moment around here!!!

Big May weekend

The weekend of May 1-2 was exciting for 2 reasons: we marked the 23rd anniversary of Fr. Mike as our pastor and Fr. Mike crowned our Blessed Mother.

Ducks?? Update

They are still coming after several weeks!!!! Fr. Mike is the bird whisperer and feeds birds during the harsh weather months until tasty bugs come out for them to eat. We get lots of sparrows, we get cardinals, blue jays, grackles, mourning doves, even hawks (who are trying to pluck our sparrows out of the bushes), but DUCKS??? We looked out the window at lunch time to see these unusual, but welcome visitors.

Happy Easter

He is risen, Alleluia!!! It was wonderful to see more familiar faces returning to church and we can’t wait to see everyone soon, hopefully. Until then here are some pictures of the church decorated for Easter.

Happy 98th anniversary!!

March 23, 1923 marked the humble beginnings of the parish we call home. Happy anniversary to all parishioners of this wonderful parish. We give thanks to all who went before us and sacrificed so much so that we could enjoy what we have. May our Blessed Mother continue to intercede for us. May God bless all of our efforts and they always honor God – Father , Son and Holy Spirit.
